Free data check

Basic data check of your print data

As part of a free basic data check, we check your print data for compliance with our technical data requirements and suitability for production. This includes the criteria marked in green. If your print data does not meet one or more of these criteria, you will be informed of this immediately. If you are unsure, we recommend professional implementation in our company, i.e. a complete technically flawless design will be carried out for you here at a charge.

Will be checked in the basic data check

Page format

  • The entire document format must be created on a scale of 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 or 1:10.

Printer's marks / Bleed

  • For motifs with sloping edges, please add 3 mm allowance all round
  • Allow 10 mm allowance for double-sided printing
  • Crop marks are not absolutely necessary (motifs with a white base definitely do not need crop marks)

Color mode / color profiles

  • Accepted color space: Process colors CMYK, 8 bit/channel - ISO Coated V2 ECI (www.eci.org)
Color profiles We print with standardized profile color settings.(If the ISO Coated V2 profile is not available, please do not embed a profile or ask for sending)
  • Images in RGB mode and spot colors are converted according to this color profile - color deviations may occur!
  • Special colors can only be simulated in digital printing!
An approximation is possible, but should be coordinated via a proof, which you either attach to the print data yourself or have us create.
  • Guide for rich black level: C70% M60% Y50% K100%

Fonts

  • Please embed fonts correctly or convert to character paths/curves (in the special case of open data delivery please attach fonts)

Spelling / text content

  • We assume no liability for the topicality, quality, correctness or completeness text content of your text and image content. Please check your texts for spelling errors in advance.
In case of disregard, we assume no liability for resulting printing errors!

Pixel data/ image resolution

  • Guide values for optimum image resolution: Image resolution 1:1 = 120 dpi | 1:2 = 240 dpi | 1:4 = 480 dpi | 1:10 = 1200 dpi
  • Check the image quality of the print PDFs in Acrobat's 100% view (scale 1:1). (View documents at a scale of 1:4 at 400%, for example!)
The image quality is checked randomly. You will be informed if there are any abnormalities.
  • Please convert RGB images to CMYK mode for your own verification!

Pixel data/ image resolution

  • Check your PDF file for unwanted overprint settings.
An object incorrectly defined as "overprinting" is a possible error in documents, as the resulting color mixes of foreground and background color are often not displayed on the screen and also on many color printers and proofing devices.
If the appearance of the desired print product changes due to such an "incorrect setting", we accept no liability for this.

Transparencies / PDF standard

  • (This includes, for example, drop shadow or opacity-reduced objects)
Transparencies must be reduced for technical reasons!
For this purpose, please generate print-ready PDF files according to PDF / X1a standard, PDF version 1.3 / Acrobat 4.0.
We are not liable for incorrectly reduced transparencies.
