Since January 01, 2021, it has been mandatory under French road traffic regulations for heavy vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of over 3.5 tons to display special warning signs on the sides and rear. These serve to highlight the danger posed by the so-called "blind spot" (in French: angles morts).
